Creative Expressions paper cuts collection – Clematis Edger die
A tutorial using die cuts that were sent out to regular class ladies for homework during the social isolation period.
Remove the low tac tape with as many of the die cut pieces in tact as possible and place to one side.
I used the following colours for this card.
Colour the main die cut as pictured below, using the methods in the previous tutorials, masking areas to be left white at this stage while you work along the design.
Continue until you have completed colouring this right hand section of the design, refer to the finished card.
Blend colour on to the remaining left side of the design, I used a blending brush.
This is what your finished piece should look like except I cut the dies I sent out at an angle rather than straight to give a more interesting effect.
You can then decide if you want to add any of the remaining die cut pieces you removed at the start of this project that are on the low tac tape.
Colour these pieces and reposition on to the main die cut piece.
For the edging line I used Versafine Clair, as the colour is going over an oxide colour I found this colour was closer to the picked raspberry oxide used on the other areas of the card. I originally used the picked raspberry over the scattered straw but the result was a paler pink than I wanted and the oxide best resembled the picked when added raspberry over the scattered straw.
I mounted on to a 6′ x 6′ card base.
