A super quick, simple New Year card…

Sometimes the simplest things can still have a WOW effect!

For this make I trimmed a piece of black card to layer onto a 7 x 7 inch card base. i used distress oxide inks on a craft mat spritzed with water to create the “firework” sky. It’s important to dry with a heat tool between colours, then then layer up to give this type of effect. If you are a new crafter my upcoming blog techniques and classes will introduce you to all these so you can build your craft skills.

I die cut the XCut Ferris Wheel die in silver mirri card.

The skyline was mounted onto card and trimmed to fit, I used a pre printed background paper skyline I already had. I used foam pads behind the skyline and positioned the Ferris Wheel in place.

Don’t underestimate the use of peel off’s, I know they are dated but they still have a useful place in craft projects and are experiencing a revival in crafting. The 2019 and stars are gold peel off’s. They look great on the distress oxide background don’t you think…

So there you have it, my super simple start to the New Year!

Today is a lazy day in our house, Paul has few days off, tomorrow we are taking our decorations down. Then I have classes to prep, design work that has a deadline and a boring but essential self assessment form to complete.

I find the New Year can be a mixed bag of emotions, I know so many of you have emotional, health and other challenges you are facing and lost loved one’s during the last year so I am sending lots of love, hugs and strength. My approach for the a New Year is to embrace the positives and be so very thankful for all the friendship and support you give me throughout the year, it means so much to me.

Look forward to seeing you at the classes this year and enjoying your crafty company, much love and hugs Karen xxx
